Find the leak. Fix the cause.

Water travels before it shows up. We trace it back to where it gets in, fix that, and then repair the damage it left behind.

Waterproofing & Leak Repair

A stain on the ceiling is where water stopped, not where it started. It may have come in at a chimney flashing ten feet away, run along a rafter and dripped down. A wet basement wall might trace back to a downspout dumping right next to the foundation. Patching the spot you can see without finding the source means paying for the same fix again.

Shane starts with where the water ends up and works backward. He looks at the roof, flashing, windows, doors, plumbing and the grading around your house, and he checks the attic and basement for water trails. When he finds the entry point, he shows you, explains how the water is getting in, and recommends the fix that actually stops it.

Leaks are a fact of life in St. Charles County. Spring storms push wind-driven rain into weak flashing, clay soil holds water against foundations, and humid summers keep things from drying out. We fix roof and flashing leaks, reseal windows and doors, correct grading near the house, repair leaking fixtures, and replace the drywall, framing and finishes the water damaged.

Every part of the job, handled.

Waterproofing & Leak Repair project detail
  1. 01

    Leak tracing

Water traced from the stain back to the entry point, checking the roof, attic, walls, windows and plumbing until the real source turns up.

  2. 02

    Roof and flashing leaks

Failed pipe boots, step flashing, chimney flashing and valleys repaired so wind-driven rain from spring storms stays on the outside.

  3. 03

    Window and door sealing

Windows and doors re-flashed, caulked and sealed where water gets behind the trim and siding, a common source of hidden wall damage.

  4. 04

    Grading and downspouts

Soil regraded to slope away from the foundation, and downspouts extended so roof water isn't dumped against your basement walls.

  5. 05

    Interior moisture fixes

Crack sealing, humidity recommendations and repairs for damp basements and crawlspaces, matched to what is actually causing the moisture.

  6. 06

    Water damage repair

Wet drywall, insulation, subfloor and framing removed and replaced once the leak is stopped, so the damage doesn't spread or return.

Shane is the most professional contractor I have ever interacted with for a job. From the first time calling him to the time he left my property he was 100% sincere with everything he did. We requested to put on a new roof on a shed and fix a rotted floor. He recommended putting some extra TLC into the shed including siding and some other work. We didn't think it was possible due to the age of the shed. When he hit some roadblocks with extra issues dealing with the project, he kept his cool. He even worked in a non-shaded area, with a heat index over 110 degrees with no breaks. His employee had the same mentality and I could see his dedication as well. He was younger in age, but Shane educated him along the way. I could tell he was helping to shape the next generation of contractors. Shane was trying to put the love of the work back into the job rather than just completing the work. He told us the new problems we didn't know about and quickly addressed them. He didn't get upset by me asking questions and even gave detailed answers to my questions. If you want a person who shows the ability and love of his work, hire this company. I felt as if I hired a family member even though we never met before since he truly took ownership of his work. His prices are beyond reasonable and he doesn't charge for an extra screw or a random material other contractors charge customers. He is truly the old fashion worker your grandparents tell you about from back in the day. When I discussed future jobs with him he gladly said he would handle it. No job is too big or small for Shane. If someone would ask if I would hire him back, I would say 100%. He even warranties his work for years and you can't beat it.

FAQ

Waterproofing & Leak Repair:
common questions

Still wondering about something? Call or text Shane at (636) 306-0393.

Can you fix my wet basement?

It depends on where the water is coming from. Many damp basements trace back to things outside: clogged gutters, downspouts dumping at the foundation, or soil that slopes toward the house. Those fixes are often simpler than people expect. If the problem points to the foundation itself, Shane will tell you honestly and help you find the right specialist.

How do you find a leak that only shows up sometimes?

Intermittent leaks usually depend on wind direction, rain intensity or how long a storm lasts. We look for the conditions that trigger it, check the attic or wall cavity for staining and water trails, and sometimes test suspect areas with a hose while someone watches inside. Tell us exactly when you notice the leak. It narrows the search.

Is my leak a plumbing problem or a roof problem?

Timing is the best clue. If the stain grows after rain, look outside: roof, flashing, windows or siding. If it shows up after someone showers, or during a dry spell, look at the plumbing, the tub drain or the shower valve. Some leaks have two sources at once. Shane will sort it out and tell you what he finds.

Will you repair the damage after the leak is fixed?

Yes. Once the source is fixed, we replace wet drywall, insulation and trim, repair rotted subfloor or framing, and paint to match. Having one contractor do both means nothing gets closed up before it's dry and the leak is confirmed stopped. You don't have to line up a roofer, a carpenter and a painter on your own.
