Kitchen Remodeling · O'Fallon & St. Charles County
Kitchens built for how you actually live.
We plan, build and finish kitchen remodels across St. Charles County, with Shane on the job from demo day to the last cabinet pull.
Kitchen Remodeling
A lot of the kitchens we walk into around here date to the 1980s and '90s. The bones are usually fine. The problem is the layout: a peninsula that blocks traffic, upper cabinets that stop a foot short of the ceiling, one outlet where you need four. A good remodel starts with how you cook, where people stand, and what bugs you about the room today.
Shane walks the room with you before anything gets drawn up. He'll open the sink base, check the floor for soft spots, and look at what's inside the wall you want gone. If he finds a slow leak or a joist someone notched for a drain line, you hear about it up front, along with what it takes to fix it right.
From there we handle the whole job: demo, framing changes, cabinets, counters, backsplash tile, flooring, lighting and plumbing fixtures. Work that needs a licensed trade or a city permit gets handled properly. We keep the mess contained, because you still have to live in the house while we work, and dinner still has to happen somewhere.

What's included
Every part of the job, handled.
- 01
Layout and planning
We work out where the sink, range and refrigerator belong, how people move through the room, and where you actually need storage and counter space.
- 02
Cabinets and islands
New cabinet installs and reconfigured runs, plus islands sized to the room so you aren't squeezing past them every time you open the dishwasher.
- 03
Countertops and backsplash
Counters set on cabinets that are level and secure, then backsplash tile cut tight around outlets, windows and trim so every edge looks finished.
- 04
Sinks, faucets and fixtures
New sinks, faucets, disposals and dishwasher connections installed and run under pressure, then checked for leaks before the cabinet doors close.
- 05
Lighting and outlets
Recessed cans, under-cabinet lights and added outlets where you need them, with any wiring that requires a licensed electrician or a permit handled properly.
- 06
Flooring and finish work
New flooring run to suit the cabinet layout, plus trim, paint and the small finishing details that make the room feel complete instead of almost done.
Shane from A to Z Improvements did an amazing job on my project. You can really tell he takes pride in his work. His attention to detail stood out from start to finish. Everything was done carefully and came out exactly how I wanted it. On top of that, his prices were super reasonable, especially for the quality of work he delivered. He's also quick to respond and very easy to talk to, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. And just like his motto says, "from roof to basement and everything in between," he really can handle it all. I'll definitely be having him back for more work in the future. Highly recommend!

FAQ
Kitchen Remodeling:
common questions
Still wondering about something? Call or text Shane at (636) 306-0393.
Can we live in the house during a kitchen remodel?
Yes, most families do. We'll help you set up a temporary kitchen in another room with the refrigerator and a microwave, and we hang plastic barriers to keep dust contained where we can. Water shut-offs are planned ahead so nothing catches you off guard. Expect a few weeks of disruption, depending on the scope of the remodel.
How does your free estimate work?
Shane comes out, looks at the room, and asks how you use it. He'll check for problems that change the scope, like water damage under the sink or wiring that won't pass inspection. You get a written estimate that spells out what's included, so you can compare it fairly with anyone else. There's no charge and no pressure.
Do you handle permits for kitchen remodels?
Where your city requires a permit, we take care of it. That usually comes up when walls move, circuits get added or plumbing gets relocated. Requirements vary between O'Fallon, St. Charles, Wentzville and unincorporated St. Charles County, so we check for your address instead of guessing. Electrical and plumbing work that needs a licensed trade is done by one.
Should I keep my current layout or change it?
Keeping the sink, range and refrigerator where they are keeps costs down, because the plumbing, gas and venting stay put. Moving them makes sense when the current layout truly doesn't work for you. Shane will tell you plainly which changes earn their cost and which ones you'll stop noticing a month after the job is done.
