Home Additions · O'Fallon & St. Charles County
More room without leaving the neighborhood.
When the house is too small but the street, the schools and the yard are right, an addition gives you the space without the move.
Home Additions
Plenty of families in O'Fallon, Lake Saint Louis and St. Peters bought the right house in the right place and simply outgrew it. A new baby, a parent moving in, a job that went remote. Selling means giving up the neighbors and paying to move. A well-built addition gives you the room you need on the lot you already love.
The hard part of an addition isn't the new room. It's the seam where new meets old. The rooflines have to tie in without creating a valley that leaks. The new floor has to meet the existing floor dead level. The siding, trim and windows have to match closely enough that nobody can tell where the original house ends. That's where experience shows.
Shane manages the addition from the first conversation through the final walk-through. We coordinate drawings, permits and inspections, then handle the foundation, framing, roofing, siding, mechanical trades and interior finish in the right order. You have one contractor to call with questions, and he's the same person on site answering them.

What's included
Every part of the job, handled.
- 01
Planning and layout
We figure out where the addition fits on your lot, how it connects to the existing rooms, and what setbacks and HOA rules allow.
- 02
Permits and inspections
Building permits, plans and every inspection your city or county requires, handled by us so the addition is documented properly for resale.
- 03
Foundation and framing
Footings, foundation and framing built to carry the new space, with a structural engineer involved where the design or the soil calls for one.
- 04
Roof tie-ins
New roof sections tied into the existing roof with proper slope and flashing, so the joint between old and new stays dry in a storm.
- 05
Matching exterior finishes
Siding, trim, windows and shingles chosen to match the original house as closely as possible, so the addition looks like it was always there.
- 06
Interior finish work
Drywall, flooring, paint, trim and lighting carried into the new space and blended with the rooms beside it, with heating and cooling coordinated.
From a real customer
“He is truly the old fashion worker your grandparents tell you about from back in the day.”
Read every reviewShane is the most professional contractor I have ever interacted with for a job. From the first time calling him to the time he left my property he was 100% sincere with everything he did. We requested to put on a new roof on a shed and fix a rotted floor. He recommended putting some extra TLC into the shed including siding and some other work. We didn't think it was possible due to the age of the shed. When he hit some roadblocks with extra issues dealing with the project, he kept his cool. He even worked in a non-shaded area, with a heat index over 110 degrees with no breaks. His employee had the same mentality and I could see his dedication as well. He was younger in age, but Shane educated him along the way. I could tell he was helping to shape the next generation of contractors. Shane was trying to put the love of the work back into the job rather than just completing the work. He told us the new problems we didn't know about and quickly addressed them. He didn't get upset by me asking questions and even gave detailed answers to my questions. If you want a person who shows the ability and love of his work, hire this company. I felt as if I hired a family member even though we never met before since he truly took ownership of his work. His prices are beyond reasonable and he doesn't charge for an extra screw or a random material other contractors charge customers. He is truly the old fashion worker your grandparents tell you about from back in the day. When I discussed future jobs with him he gladly said he would handle it. No job is too big or small for Shane. If someone would ask if I would hire him back, I would say 100%. He even warranties his work for years and you can't beat it.

FAQ
Home Additions:
common questions
Still wondering about something? Call or text Shane at (636) 306-0393.
How long does a home addition take?
Longer than most remodels, because there are more steps: design, permits, foundation, framing, roofing, mechanical work and finishes, with inspections in between. A single-room addition moves faster than a two-story one, and Missouri weather can shift things in spring and winter. Shane will give you a realistic schedule once plans and permits are in hand.
Will my HOA need to approve an addition?
If you live in one of the many St. Charles County subdivisions with an HOA, probably. Most associations want to review plans, materials and colors before work starts. We'll help you put together what the board needs to see. Getting that approval early keeps the project from stalling after the city has already issued a permit.
Can we stay in the house while you build?
Usually, yes. Most of an addition is built outside the existing walls, so daily life carries on until we open up the connection. When we do, we seal the opening with plastic and keep it closed until the new space is ready to join the old. Shane will give you a heads-up before the louder, dustier days.
Is it better to build up or build out?
It depends on your lot, your foundation and what you need the space for. Building out uses yard space and needs a new foundation. Building up keeps the yard but means confirming the existing structure can carry a second story, which usually involves an engineer. Shane will look at both options with you and explain which one makes sense.
