Working with A to Z
General questions
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Shane comes out, walks the job with you, opens up anything that needs a closer look, and gives you a written estimate that spells out what is included. There is no charge and no pressure to sign anything on the spot.
Will Shane actually be on my job?
Yes. A to Z is owner-run, and Shane is on the job site, not just at the sales meeting. He works alongside his crew, answers your questions directly, and is the person you call if something comes up.
Will there be surprise charges?
Your estimate covers the scope you agreed to. If we open a wall or pull up a floor and find something hidden, like rot or an old leak, we stop, show you, and price the fix before doing it. And we do not nickel-and-dime you for a box of screws.
Do you take on small jobs?
We do. Faucets, ceiling fans, drywall patches, a soft spot in the floor, a rotted step: if it is part of your house, it is on our list. Plenty of our bigger projects started as a small repair.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes. We stand behind our work with a workmanship warranty, and the terms for your project are written into your estimate. If something we built is not right, call us and we will come back and make it right.
What areas do you serve?
We work out of our O'Fallon office and our Wright City shop, and serve O'Fallon, Lake Saint Louis, Wentzville, St. Charles, St. Peters, Dardenne Prairie, Cottleville, Weldon Spring, Wright City, Warrenton, Foristell and Washington. Nearby and not on the list? Call anyway.
Do you handle permits?
Where a permit is required, we handle it with your city or St. Charles County. That usually comes up with additions, structural changes, decks and some basement and electrical work. Any work that needs a licensed electrician or plumber is done by one.
Can you help after hail or wind damage?
Yes. We inspect the roof, siding and gutters, show you what is actually damaged, and repair or replace only what needs it. If you are filing a claim, we can give you a detailed written estimate to share with your adjuster.
How soon can you start?
It depends on the season and the size of the job. Small repairs can often be scheduled quickly, while remodels and additions are planned a bit further out so materials are on site when we start. Call or text for current availability.
Can we stay in the house while you work?
Almost always. We set up dust barriers, protect floors, keep a clean work area and plan water or power shut-offs ahead of time. On kitchen remodels we help you set up a temporary kitchen so daily life keeps moving.
Do you work on older homes?
All the time. Since 1990 we have worked on everything from older homes near historic downtowns to 1990s and 2000s subdivisions. Older houses hide surprises, and we would rather find them early and tell you than cover them up.
What are your hours?
Monday through Saturday 7 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday 9 AM to 2 PM. Texting is often the fastest way to reach us, and a photo of the problem helps Shane tell you a lot before he arrives.
